You can request the deletion of your DutyWeek.com (also known as Family Chores) account at any time. This page outlines the steps to request account deletion and explains what data will be deleted or retained.

ℹī¸ Important Information

This deletion request applies to accounts created through Google OAuth on app.dutyweek.com. If you are using the local-only version (without login), your data is stored only on your device and no server-side deletion is needed.

Steps to Request Account Deletion:

  1. Fill out the deletion request form below with your registered email address
  2. Provide a reason for deletion (optional but helpful for improving our service)
  3. Submit the form to initiate your deletion request
  4. Receive confirmation via email within 24 hours
  5. Account deletion will be processed within 30 days of your request

⚠ī¸ Important: This Action Cannot Be Undone

Once your account is deleted, you will not be able to recover your data. Please make sure to export any information you want to keep before submitting this request.

🗑ī¸ Data Deletion Details

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently deleted from our servers:

Completion Records Historical data of completed chores and tasks Within 30 days
Events & Calendar All calendar events and scheduling data Within 30 days
Settings & Preferences App settings, language preferences, themes, and customizations Within 30 days
Session Data Authentication tokens and active sessions Immediately

Data Retention Period:

After you submit a deletion request, your account will be marked for deletion and you will be immediately logged out. Your data will be retained for 30 days to allow you to change your mind and recover your account if needed. After 30 days, all data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems.

💡 Data We May Retain

For legal compliance and security purposes, we may retain the following for up to 90 days:

  • Server logs (IP addresses, access times) - for security and fraud prevention
  • Deletion request records - for compliance purposes

These logs do not contain any personal household or chore data and are automatically purged after 90 days.
